If you like wild-romance, you can go on our way with your picnic bag, filled with delicacies from the region, and look for a cozy spot, of which there is more than enough in Magganiaris Spring. Let yourself be inspired by the nature, the impressive mountain scenery and the smell of your sweet and savory treats!
Sitting on a rock perched high up on the mountain top, you can’t help but feel proud of yourself. Hiking is all about gazing at the imposingly rugged peaks all around you and feeling a profound sense of wonder. And for those special moments, your everyday stresses seem so far away. The peak of Agia Kiriaki is the summit (1200m) that is directly accessible from Ilaeira Resort and takes about 3 hours to get to and from. The nickname of this particular peak is Profotis Ilias Jr, since its height is half of the tallest peak of Taygetos (2400). Hiking to Agia Kiriaki will be an experience to remember!

The Monastery of Zermbitsa is located in a prominent location atop a hill of Mt Taygetos. This setting gives visitors to the monastery a rare treat because from here you can behold the splendor of the magnificent Evrotas River valley. Looking westward, we see the highest peak of our proud and majestic Mt. Taygetos.
There are many other trails to follow other to the E4 that is the official European mountain path to the summit. You can take a quick hike to Junior Profitis Ilias or Saint Kiriaki, which is the peak seen directly from the hotel, and make your way through a paths known only by locals. Walking through the forest and having all your senses tingle, from seeing how the area is a natural spring hotspot, riddled with natural springs and in one quick walk you can see brooks and small waterfalls among tall evergreen trees, notice the friendly forest creatures scurrying about, hear the sounds of the forest, the birds, the critters, the babbling brooks and breath in the fresh wholesome air. Plus, anyone can have a swimming pool but who has a swimming pool at 850m with a view of the pine forest, the Saint Kiriaki peak and the entire Laconian valley?
You must not miss Mystras. A Byzantine castle really worth seeing, you won’t find anything like that anywhere in the world. Its magnificence reveals from the moment you enter the big front castle’s gate, after that just let yourself imagine and live the fairytale among palaces, monasteries, churches walking through small romantic paths. The tour takes about 2.30 hours and the distance from the resort is a 30-35 min. drive.
It is no wonder that Simos is considered one of the best beaches in Greece. Simos Beach is easy to reach by car.Distance 1 ½ hour from our hotel.
Kotrwnas, Limeni, Oitylo, Ageranos, Skoutari all of these places have to offer the most crystal beaches. The distance to Mani from the resort is about 45 min to 1 hour by car. Mani’s stone houses and amazing view will keep you company on the way.
A small town right in the sea, a castle full of life and joy. The old town of Monemvasia is in about 1.20 min. distance from the resort and will offer you a full day tour. The old town has a unique, magical atmosphere and a fascinating history.
